EnlighteningArt.com is created to feature selected talented artists and encourage people to collect artwork as a means to enrich their lives. We aim to educate people to the value of collecting art. We hope you will be inspired to become a life-long collector of good artwork.

We are currently representing a very talented artist. We will take time and care to build a list of excellent artists to offer you a choice collection of artwork.

How to select art?
One could select art on any number of criteria. There are several books where you can learn how to study and evaluate art. Here are two titles to check out:

"The Basics of Buying Art" by Cindi R. Maciolek
"Discovering Art: A User's Guide to the World of Collecting" by Jeanne Frank

Ultimately, what matters is whether that piece of artwork speaks to your heart. So, listen to your heart!

about jia yi chan
When I was a little girl growing up in a small town in Malaysia, I knew that I would not be content just settling and living in my home country. I was extremely fortunate to be able to attend college in the United States with the full support of my parents 14 years ago. After obtaining my Bachelor of Music and Master of Business Administration degrees, I began working for the Youth Orchestras of San Antonio. Then, it was a small non-profit organization with an operating budget of less than $80,000 and two employees - the Music Director and the General Manager. As the General Manager, I had the tremendous opportunity to gain an in-depth knowledge of all aspects of running a non-profit organization. Currently, I am working as Manager of Corporate Relations for Conner Prairie, raising money for the sixth largest living history museum in the nation.
Trained in piano and classical guitar since age six as well as having taken water color painting classes, I have always had an interest in and appreciation of art. In the fourteen plus years I have lived in the United States, I have met many wonderful musicians and artists. For some, I knew them first as friends long before I knew them as artists. My desire to do something that combines the arts and business became a reality when an artist friend asked me to represent his work. At about the same time, I met another friend who is great with web site design. My great fortune of meeting these two people propelled this project forward. As I worked on this project, it became clear to me that I would use this web site to represent my artist friends. Since I am not a professional artist, I do not claim to be an expert in what a good piece of art is. My goal is to use this web site to feature the specific works that speak to me or move me in some way. Larger samples of the artists' work will be made available within their portfolios.
My plan is to start small and contact the people with whom I already have relationships to sell this wonderful artwork. I will steadily add more artists to my artist roster as I continue to meet and develop my relationships with artists.
I hope you take time to view this web site and I hope you will be moved to purchase a piece of work or two for your enjoyment. Thank you for your support of this project!
